Step 4: delivering your website solution

This final step involves fine-tuning your newly-constructed website, checking to see that it functions as intended, carrying out basic search engine optimisation, and loading it onto the internet via a host server.

What does this involve?

  • selecting and registering an appropriate domain name for your website - to create an identifiable on-line presence
  • setting up a password-controlled account with a webhosting organisation - to manage and maintain your website
  • carrying out basic search engine optimisation (SEO) to ensure that your website is 'found' by google and other commonly-used search engines
  • loading the completed website files onto a host server
  • testing the uploaded website - to ensure that all pages display as intended, and that all hyperlinks and other web-related devices work correctly
  • allowing for a three-month period of troubleshooting - to iron out any glitches that may become apparent once your website has been launched
